About ESC Homes
ESC Homes builds mid-century modern inspired cottages and ADU's for Virginia families. Our flagship model, The Solara, is a two-level custom home at approximately 2,000 square feet designed around a private courtyard or atrium—where every square foot has been earned. The Solara Cottage ADU brings the same architectural standard to a single-level, small-footprint home. Every ESC cottage is stick-built on a permanent foundation, qualifying for traditional financing through Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Additional models arrive late 2026.
For 20 years I've listened to buyers talk about how they live, what they wish they could afford, and the kind of homes they never quite find. ESC Homes is my answer. I believe extraordinary modern design should be built for ordinary families—that beauty, light, and connection to nature aren't luxuries, they're essentials every home should deliver. We call what we build a cottage deliberately: a home designed with care, scaled to how people actually live, and rooted in the belief that smaller done right will always outperform larger done carelessly.
